Safety is the priority at Perth Airport, and upgrades and maintenance of each of the runways are essential to ensure continued safe operations.
The scheduled maintenance works require each runway to be closed on alternate Fridays.

Depending on considerations such as the weather, local airspace, the surrounding communities and traffic demand, each runway is used at various times of the day. During runway closures, aircraft will use the alternate runway for extended periods of time. As a result, you may notice temporary changes to aircraft movements (either an increase or a decrease), depending on which runway is closed. However, the total number of flights arriving and departing Perth Airport has not changed and there has not been any change to flight paths.
